The Mother Goddess is represented by the full moon in the night sky. She is the carrier of life, the nurturer. Demeter was her name to the Greeks. It is believed she began as an Earth goddess and evolved with agriculture. The mother aspect of the Triple Goddess is also seen in the richness of the fields and the ripeness of the grain. She was the Corn Maiden to the natives of the Americas. As the full moon, so is her womb full with the life of her son, the God to be reborn.
