The Maiden

Information for the beginner.

The Maiden is one aspect of the Triple Goddess. She is symbolized by the waxing crescent of the moon, young and virginal before her marriage to the God. She is the huntress of the Amazons, known as Artemis to the Greeks and Diana to the Romans. She is the beginning of life, the bride before her wedding night. So important is the Maiden, that an entire denomination of Wicca is devoted to her: Dianic Wicca.
